Edited by: Zarch AlDain on 20/06/2010 17:37:44 Well played Dystopia. I knew what you were doing when you came back in to finish off my poor abso but there wasn't much I could do to stop you except spread out some ECM drones and try and do some damage before I died. :(
Can't argue with the win - the rules are the rules. I don't agree with the rule but can't really complain about you exploiting it!

No one likes to see a team advance based on something that happened weeks ago.
I would love to see hydra loose on the same rule for what they did in there first match.
sorry zarch , i was cheering for ya, but as allways you take it as a man.

It happens :) Was a very close match and we always knew Dystopia and PL were going to be our main threats when it came to reaching the finals.

Originally by: Kurj Valdoria The rules were in place before the tourney began. We would go through on points in the event of a tie. This was not a secret to anyone. Panda had to BEAT us on points. They failed to do so. Stop whining about it.
In that you are true, but what would dystopia feel about having the rule changed for next tourney, or one added? While it was a win, and if I was FC of your team, I would have done the same thing because your loki pilot probably would have lost the one on one. But isn't running the ring without engaging no different than docking up in a station or running away and therefore not pvp? Would you not smacktalk local if somebody did the same in open TQ combat?
Well, I'm not Dystopia and not even anyone official from Panda but I think they should have a rule that says:
Instead of a 15 minute time limit: From 13 minutes into the match the arena size will be reduced by 25km radius per minute. (13: 100km, 14: 75km, 15: 50km, 16L 25km).
At 17 minutes all mid and low slot mods would be put offline. (GM might need a new tool to do that!)
At 18 minutes whichever team has highest total points value of ship * % of ship HP remaining wins.
(i.e. a team with a command ship on 50% hp and a bomber on full would get 6 pts for the bomber and 16*0.5 for the command ship).

Nah, it's easy enough.
CCP Claw> in 30 seconds arena will shrink to 100km
CCP Claw> in 10 seconds arena will shrink to 100km
CCP Claw> Arena is now 100km
*pop pop pop*
CCP Claw> in 30 seconds arena will shrink to 75km
CCP Claw> in 10 seconds arena will shrink to 75km
CCP Claw> Arena is now 75km
*pop pop pop*
etc.

Grow up. Dystopia won fair and square by the letter of the rules and I've never said otherwise.
I'm suggesting a rule that will improve the tourney in the future - and is just as likely to penalise us as anyone else since we've flown our fair share of Minmatar/fast setups! If we'd won the match the same way Dystopia did I'd have (1) taken the win and (2) made the same suggestion for a rules change.
I believe this is actually the first time in tourney history (certianly since the new format was introduced with this tiebreaker rule) that the "tiebreaker" rule has actually come into effect which is why it's getting so much discussion now.
Watching one ship run away for 8 minutes is not fun for anyone... never mind who wins or loses at the end...
Imagine the scenario where one team comes out of the qualifiers ranked first and then proceeed through to win the tournament without ever destroying an enemy ship.
If they brought enough speed/tank that is exactly what could be done using the existing rules (although it would be unlikely I admit!).
